Nonetheless, with over 70 years of commitment to excellence, Smart Transport is an undisputable evidence that a business can survive the test of time. Our success and achievements are attributable to the loyalty and reliability we guarantee to all of our clients; by being responsive, staying mindful of industry trends and renewing our vision with each new generation.
Family Abela’s transportation business was established in the 1950s, when Giuseppe Abela bought his first bus. The company has been managing business expansion wisely ever since Alfred, the son of Giuseppe, bought his first vehicle in 1979. Following in his father’s footsteps, Joseph, who showed interest in this sector from a very young age, used to help in maintaining the vehicles as well as started working as a bus driver himself. Eventually, he bought vehicles of his own to enlarge his fleet. In 2011, Ryan, Joseph’s son, joined his father’s transport business. Already an enthusiast for manoeuvring, he started working at the garage and later on as a minibus and coach driver.
In 2012, the company celebrated its fourth generation with a rebrand of the company name and image. The aim of this rebranding exercise was to give the company a fresh and modern appearance – and thereupon, Smart Transport Co. Ltd. was founded.
Today, we continue to invest in renewing modern vehicles and expanding our services. For many decades, the family name of Abela has gained an excellent reputation in the transportation sector. Our main goal is to continue being committed to move the legacy forward.
